She’s a new mama, what do you expect? Meghan Markle apparently has some pretty strict rules for anyone who wants to visit her newborn son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. “Like most first-time moms, she’s extremely protective of Archie and has very strict rules for guests,” a royal source exclusively told In Touch magazine, on newsstands now. “No one can touch Archie unless they’ve washed their hands.”

According to the insider, if staff shows any sign of an illness, such as a runny nose or sneezing, they’re not allowed anywhere near Frogmore Cottage, where Meghan, 37, and Prince Harry reside. The source claims that Meghan even wants staff to have flu shots before they visit with the newest royal baby.

Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their bouncing baby boy on May 6. “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz,” their official Instagram page revealed. “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.” And sure enough, before long, fans of the royal family learned the little guy’s name.

Meg’s mom Doria Ragland and Queen Elizabeth quickly met the new addition to the royal family, but Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, waited several days to see him. And it sounds like they might have had to follow Meghan’s specific rules in order to do so.

Thankfully, the royal insider who spoke with In Touch claimed Doria “is much more relaxed, so she’s a calming influence on her daughter if she gets flustered or feels overwhelmed with everything going on around her.” Guess it doesn’t matter how old you are — some part of you will always need your mom!
