Congrats, you two! On Monday, May 6, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed a baby boy into their lives.

“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz,” their official Instagram page read.

The post continued, “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”

“The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news,” an official statement read. “The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

Just a month before the Duchess of Sussex gave birth, the royal couple asked fans to donate to a meaningful charity instead of giving them baby presents. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support in anticipation of the birth of their first child,” the Instagram post on April 5 began. “In lieu of sending gifts, the couple have long planned to encourage members of the public to make donations to select charities for children and parents in need.”

The message continued, “If you already made a donation, the couple send you their greatest thanks. If you are thinking about it, they ask that you kindly consider the following organizations they’ve selected, which we will highlight here over the next few days.”

The duo selected several organizations that support children and young people including The Lunchbox Fund, Little Village HQ, WellChild and baby2baby. They concluded the post with a sweet note. “The Duke and Duchess remain appreciative for your warm wishes and kindness during this especially happy time in their lives! Thank you for sharing the love.”

The brunette beauty, 37, was apparently a little anxious about becoming a mom for the first time. “Sources close to Meghan say that, like any new mom-to-be, she’s feeling somewhat nervous as the due date approaches, but Harry is there by her side,” royal reporter Omid Scobie explained on Good Morning America on March 27.

Omid also revealed that Harry, 34, is taking fatherhood seriously. “He’s decreased a lot of his work to be there for his wife,” he said. Additionally, the red-headed hunk is taking paternity leave.

“It’s a modern thing. Prince William did it for his children [with Duchess Kate] and Harry’s going to do it for his, when his child is born. I mean, the older generation didn’t do it. The older generation just got on with it,” royal spokesperson Dickie Arbiter told Us Weekly. “It’s a new thing. People do it, William did it and Harry is going to do it. [The length] depends on him. I would have thought no more than about two or three weeks.”

We’re so happy for Meghan and Harry! Now, make sure to show us as many pictures as possible, please.
