On Sunday, August 4, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 37, took to Instagram to post a photo of their family in honor of Meghan’s birthday. The caption read, “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! 🎈.” No red flags here, though some royal die-hards beg to differ.

The image shows both royal ladies and their men, with the addition of Prince Charles. Meghan is wearing an all navy and black outfit while Kate is standing front and center in a stunning red coat — looks like we found the red flag. A slew of comments criticized Princess Kate for posting a photo that doesn’t highlight the birthday girl, 38, but herself.

“As always Kate is showing up Meghan big time here,” wrote one user. Some even thought the lady of the hour deserved her own solo shot. “Wait … and why doesn’t she have a picture of her alone? Although Kate was accused of taking the new royal’s thunder, on the contrary, she was also admired for her class after Meghan didn’t post a photo for George’s birthday.
