Many people in the music industry (and around the world) are boycotting Gucci after the company debuted a sweater that many believed resembled blackface. Apparently, Mariah Carey didn’t get the memo. The 48-year-old songstress took her kids to Disneyland on February 8, and rocked a Gucci sweatshirt for the magical evening, much to fans’ dismay. T.I.’s Gonna Be Mad

T.I., Soulja Boy, Swae Lee and Spike Lee all asked their fans to avoid wearing or buying Gucci for three months to punish them for their questionable design choice. When the company tried to apologize, T.I. said, “As a 7 figure/yr customer & longtime supporter of your brand I must say … Y’all GOT US f–ked UP!!! APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!!!! We ain’t going for this ‘oops my bad I didn’t mean to be racist and disrespectful towards your people’ s–t!!!”

Fans Are Pissed

Mariah must have missed that memo, and fans certainly noticed. “She still go rock Gucci … if you not standing with is you against us f–k @mariah,” wrote one commenter on Instagram. Another agreed, saying, “The Gucci shirt caught me off guard. We need to stick together and your platform could help the African American community. There are so many other brands to support.”

Of course, she also had her supporters. Many assumed she was simply too busy to have heard about the controversy, and meant no harm. “Y’all don’t understand in real life Mariah does not keep up with social media and certain events like us normal folk. She’s in her own world with TV’s off doing her own thing. I guarantee she knows nothing about the Gucci drama.”

Regardless of the drama, Mariah seemed to have a great day. She rode all of the major coasters, including Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and the Radiator Springs Racers with her kids, and despite her bizarrely bored face in this pic, it seems like she had a great time.
