She’s so happy! Amy Roloff shared the news about her engagement to Chris Marek with her Instagram followers on September 20 and made sure to show off her gorgeous engagement ring in the process. “Hi, everyone!” the Little People, Big World star said on her Story. “I have some great, great, exciting news to share. That I wanted to share with you. Some of you may have already heard, but, I’m engaged!” She also included text graphics that said “Guess what? I’m engaged!” and “Best day ever!” just to really drive the point home.
“Chris asked me to marry him and of course I said yes,” Amy, 55, continued. “We’ve been dating for three years now, just celebrated our third year, quote, anniversary, and that’s when he asked me to marry him. I was so surprised. So shocked. I am so, so very happy. He’s an awesome guy. I love him to death. And I’m so looking forward to this new journey of us. Together. So anyway! I’m engaged! I’m happy. Thank you all, so, so much.”
Just one night after Amy celebrated her birthday, Chris popped the question. “I’m excited, I’m so surprised, I’m thrilled!” the reality TV mom told People. “I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be happier or more excited.” Chris told the outlet, “I was very nervous! It had to be a heart-shaped diamond because I knew that’s what Amy wanted.” (Good attention to detail, man!)
Amy previously said that she would be interested in getting married again after her divorce from Matt Roloff, with whom she shares four kids — twin brothers Jeremy and Zach Roloff, 29, daughter Molly Roloff, 26, and their 22-year-old youngest son, Jacob Roloff. “I would definitely love to get married one day,” she revealed to Us Weekly in May. “But it’s not something that I’m intentionally pursuing.” Well, it seems to have worked out for her anyway!
In July, the couple sparked engagement rumors when a fan noticed Amy wearing a rather sparkly ring on Instagram Live. But she quickly shut down the speculation. “No big news,” she replied. “It’s a ring I had remade from a ring I already had. It’s on my right finger.” Now she’s really got something to show off. Congratulations, Amy!
