Dad knows best! Season 2 of WE tv’s hit reality TV series Love After Lockup is to premiere this Friday, Dec. 7, and the new cast is definitely bringing the drama. In an exclusive sneak peek from the Season 2 premiere, new cast member Megan has a heart-to-heart conversation with her father about her incarcerated fiancé, Michael — and dad doesn’t seem too happy about Megan’s decision to marry a convict because he doesn’t want his daughter to get hurt.

“You know I love you I support you in everything that you do, but you’re talking about giving your heart to this guy,” Megan’s dad told her in the clip. Megan explained that Michael already has her heart, and said she prefers to fall in love with someone’s heart and soul and who they are as a person.

But as a parent, her dad was understandably concerned about Megan’s relationship with Michael — and he tried to make his daughter see his point of view. “I don’t want her to go. I really wish that she would reconsider and really take some time to really think about this,” Megan’s dad said in his confessional.

According to Megan, her boyfriend Michael is currently in prison serving time for a parole violation. She claimed that Michael was on parole because he allegedly witnessed a fight and when the victim pressed charges, Michael chose not to report the crime. She also revealed that Michael’s original crime was allegedly grand theft auto when he was around 14 or 15 years old.

Despite Michael’s criminal history, there was another detail about Michael that raised a lot of concerns from Megan’s dad. Michael has a kid from a former relationship, and Megan’s dad asked her if she was really ready to deal with Michael’s baby mama drama.

“Michael has a child with someone else,” Megan said in her confessional. “But I’m not worried about the mother of Michael’s child being a part of our lives. That isn’t something that gives me any type of insecurity. I’m gonna love her like she’s my own.”

Season 2 of Love After Lockup premieres on Friday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. EST/PST on WE tv.
