Way to go, Ali! Leah Messer‘s little girl — who was born with muscular dystrophy — is now able to ride a bike, and her mama is so proud. The Teen Mom 2 star took to Snapchat to document the exciting moment. Watch the video below to check out her skills!
Yesterday, the reality star posted a sweet Instagram snap with her daughter and wrote, “Mommy and daughter bonding time after therapy with her!”Adorable! Fans commented in support of the mother-of-three and said, “Such a great mom!” Another added, “You look stunning and Ali looks beautiful and so grown up. You can’t beat mother/daughter time.” A third chimed in, “I love watching you, Leah! Your girls are so precious, and it’s a pleasure seeing them all grow up.”
Earlier this year, the 25-year-old revealed in an episode of Teen Mom that she was considering getting Ali’s twin sister, Aleeah Grace, tested for MD. Because Ali suffers from a rare genetic form of muscular dystrophy and, considering the twins share DNA, there’s a possibility that Gracie could be at risk for the same disease.
“She’s a child of Corey [Simms] and I’s[sic], and we carry the gene,” Leah explained to her friend at the time. “She hasn’t been tested. We thought that she had been tested, but I guess that was for some other testing research. The possibility of her even having it is worrisome to me.” When Leah gave her ex-husband a call to give him a health update on their daughter, she promised to not “overthink” Gracie’s testing and get her checked as soon as possible.
Despite the difficult decisions she’s had to make over the years, Leah’s optimistic about the future. “No matter what, I may never see the decline that they see. I guess I’ll handle that when it comes, you know? It made it hard at 17, knowing something’s wrong with this baby that you love so f–king much.”
Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
