Kim Kardashian Wears a Diamond Grill on Instagram, Breaking Her “No Jewelry” Social Media Rule
She’s breaking her own rules! Kim Kardashian completely overhauled her entire Instagram aesthetic after her 2016 Paris robbery changed the way she uses social media — which includes a less-flashy and more modest approach to sharing moments from her day-to-day life on Snapchat and Instagram. But Kim broke her “no-jewelry” rule on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself wearing a diamond grill and gold chains and fans had a lot to say about it.
“What happened to not posting your jewelry on social media,” one fan asked, and another wrote, “She really shouldn’t show off her jewelry. I can’t believe she’s doing that again after her robbery.”
The mastermind behind Kim’s terrifying Paris robbery — where she was tied up and robbed at gunpoint, with thieves stealing a phone and $10 million worth in jewelry — admitted in an interview with French newspaper Le Monde that social media made it easy for him to target Kim and her belongings.
Just days before her harrowing ordeal, Kim shared a photo of herself wearing what appears to be the same grill that she wore in her most recent Instagram photo, plus the $4 million diamond engagement ring that was gifted to her by her husband Kanye West — which was one of the pieces of jewelry that was stolen in the heist.
But even though it may seem like Kim is back to her old, flashy ways, she’s still very cautious about her safety more than a year after the robbery — espeically now that she and Kanye are expecting baby No. 3 via a surrogate. Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Kim and her family had just moved into the mansion that they spent years renovating and she implemented one major rule: under no circumstances is any jewelry allowed to be stored in their home, and they hired a 24/7 armed security team to guard the mansion.
