We officially have more Kardashians to keep up with! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s third child arrived on Monday, Jan. 15, at 12:47 a.m., and was delivered via surrogate. The new addition joins older siblings North, 4, and Saint, 2.

Kim Kardashian’s new baby — it’s a girl!

Kim confirmed the news on her website, writing, “Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”

According to TMZ, Kim was the first person to have “skin-to-skin contact” with her newborn. Though Kanye was at the hospital, he allegedly stayed out of the delivery room.

Kim Kardashian’s daughter’s name is Chicago.

Kim revealed the name, Chicago West, on her website four days after the birth. Chicago will also go by the nickname Chi (pronounced: Shy) — and we’re definitely surprised by the unique choice.

Fans immediately began speculating over possible options after the reality star accidentally confirmed the gender on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November.

“My daughter thinks she’s tricky. We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, ‘You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want [North] to feel that something’s coming and for her to really understand it,'” the 37-year-old said at the time. “So, people brought toys and gifts and [North] was opening them all up the next day. And she goes, ‘Mom, since Baby Sister’s not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and play with them and make sure they’re all okay for Baby Sister.'” We can’t wait to see pics of Northie with her new sibling!

Uncle Rob teased little Chi’s name just two days after her birth.

On Jan. 17, Rob tweeted two bear emojis which fans later speculated was his way of sneakily hinting at his new niece’s name since Chicago is home to the Chicago Cubs baseball team and the Chicago Bears football.

The baby weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces at birth.

In comparison, Saint weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce, while North weighed 4 pounds, 15 ounces (Kimye’s firstborn arrived about five weeks early). The beauty mogul previously revealed that her placenta accreta, the potentially life-threatening condition she suffered through during both of her pregnancies, was one of the reasons she opted to use a surrogate for baby No. 3. “If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that,” she shared on a past episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The baby came right around her due date!

Ever since news broke in September that Kim and Kanye had hired a surrogate to carry their third child, sources have said the baby would be born in January — and they were right! Even though the mother-of-three admitted that she “hated” being pregnant, she confessed that watching another woman carry her child has been challenging.

“Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong,” she told Entertainment Tonight in November. “I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still… knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. It’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

Thankfully, Kim is super close to her surrogate, who reportedly lives in San Diego and is a mom-of-two — though the social media queen didn’t invite her to the baby shower. “I introduced her to my family earlier that day, and I just thought…I don’t know, it was a weird decision to have to make,” the multi-millionaire explained. “Of course I would have wanted her to be there, and be a part of it, but I hadn’t really gone that far in explaining it to my kids yet.”

But, Kim added, “I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate. She’s so nice. She’s the perfect person to do this for my family.”

Kim hasn’t posted photos of her new baby girl.

We had to wait two months for a photo of North — which of course was unveiled on Kris Jenner‘s now-defunct talk show. Saint made his public debut nearly three months after his birth on mom Kim’s website. So, if the famous parents stick to their pattern, we’ll get our first glimpse at their baby girl in March (or early April!)
