Looks like Josh Duggar has a long way to go before he can truly put his past behind him.
According to a new report, the 29-year-old is still in regular counseling for his “sex addiction” despite being released from rehab more than a year ago.
“Josh is still in counseling after his rehab stay for sex addiction. He is going to a family pastor,” a source says, adding that the 29-year-old’s therapist is not a licensed professional. “It’s religious counseling, so it’s not like he’s getting actual help for his issues.”
The soon-to-be father-of-five went to rehab after it was revealed that he had an Ashley Madison account and had cheated on his wife, Anna.
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” he said at the time. “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain, and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”
Josh and his wife are currently expecting their fifth child together; according to the source, they had to wait before they had sex following his stint in rehab.
“They were in a rebuilding of trust phase,” the source says. “It was only kisses and hugs at first, as part of his therapy. They had a waiting period before they were allowed to have sex.”
