They’re back — safe and sound!
Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard shocked fans earlier this week when she revealed that a friend that they made during their missionary trip to Central America had been murdered and many were concerned for their family’s safety. But the pregnant Jill & Jessa: Counting On star took to Instagram on Sunday, May 21 to reveal that they both made it home with their two-year-old son Israel safely in tow.
“So grateful to be back in the States and get to go to our church this morning,” the 26-year-old wrote in the caption of a car selfie with her hubby, adding the hashtags “#IsraelIsWithGrandma” and #LoveTheUSA.”
The reason for Jill’s return to the United States this weekend is being heavily speculated, even though she previously revealed that they would be returning to the states soon so that she and Derick can prepare for the birth of their second child — as she’s quickly approaching her due date.
But other fans think that they returned because they wanted to attend Jill’s younger sister Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding! Joy-Anna said yes after her fiancé Austin Forsyth popped the question back in March and even though their wedding registry claimed that they would be walking down the aisle on Oct. 28, Duggar Family News reported that it was just a decoy and their wedding actually took place this weekend.
The Duggar family has kept quiet on social media so it’s unclear whether the reports are true, but one thing is for certain — Jill and Derick can’t wait to welcome baby No. 2! In a pregnancy update posted last month, Jill even revealed the cute nickname they have for their unborn baby boy.
“The pregnancy is going well thus far, as we make it into the home stretch now,” Jill wrote. “’Little Samuelito’ (as the locals call him) sometimes wakes mommy up at night now with his active kicking.”
