Blame it on the mommy brain! Former Counting On star Jill Duggar took to her Instagram Story on Saturday, November 9, to share a hilarious and relatable cooking fail. The 28-year-old burned her son’s microwavable mac ’n’ cheese
and set her whole house up in smoke because she forgot to add one important ingredient, and she explained why in a series of selfie videos.

“Can’t really see it here but it’s a little bit smokey in here because yours truly was a little bit distracted while making mac ‘n’ cheese,” Jill said, while showing off the burned cup. “Those little mac ‘n’ cheese cups, this is what’s left of Sam’s mac ‘n’ cheese. I forgot to add water to it.”

But Jill’s mommy brain prevented her from reacting, and she said she was too tired to immediately register that what she was seeing coming out of her microwave was smoke. “So it started smoking and I was like, standing there looking. I was like, ‘Oh that’s interesting.’ I didn’t notice there was any kind of smoke, it must be really hot coming out of top of the thing here.’ I was like, ‘Oh it looks a little smokey up here like, pouring across the ceiling.’ And I was like, ‘What’s that?’ And then I was like, ‘Uhhh,’ and I checked the microwave. I opened the microwave and I’m like ‘Ooh, I forgot to add water,’” she continued.

In the caption of her videos, she shared a tip with her fans. “Note to everyone … you have to add water to mac ‘n’ cheese or it will turn into a black noodle melted mess LOL,” she wrote.

This isn’t the first time Jill’s had a cooking fail with microwaveable food. “I knew the smell immediately cause, yeah,” she added. I remember that from growing up and cooking ramen without any water in there and stuff like that, but anyways.”

All in all, at least Jill has the sense of humor to laugh at herself when she has a cooking fail. And for those wondering, her son Samuel got to enjoy his mac ‘n’ cheese after all, after his mom made him another cup — this time, with water.
