In early January, a report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup revealed that the MTV crew for Teen Mom was allegedly afraid to film Jenelle Evans‘ segments because of continued drama from her husband, David Eason. When Kailyn Lowry weighed in that she felt pretty much the same way, the father-of-three slammed her, saying she has “stank breath” and “body odor.” So her ex Javi Marroquin knew better than to get involved — but apparently, he feels the same way, too.

In a new interview with Radar Online, the Teen Mom 2 star admitted, “I wouldn’t go anywhere around there. If Jenelle is around, he knows what she’s doing and he knows where to find her. I wouldn’t go down there at all. I wouldn’t even go to the state!” And the crew pretty much all agrees with that sentiment. David has already been fired from the show, but Javi admits that the crew tries to avoid being around him completely.

“That dude’s got issues,” he continued. “I stay out of it so he doesn’t come after me. I don’t want him threatening my life. I stay out of it.” Unlike Kail, though, he’s not totally unwilling to film reunion specials with Jenelle. He believes that “MTV handles all that as far as who is coming and [has] access to it.” He continued, “It sounds like [the crew] is on it every time they go film over there. I feel pretty safe as it is.”

Still, he wouldn’t want to risk getting on David’s bad side, which makes total sense. Though his insults for Kail were pretty juvenile, he’s also shown off his shocking stockpile of ammunition on Instagram and gone on a long rant, threatening anyone who trespasses onto his property. But though he’s officially out of the MTV fam, Javi doesn’t see the same thing happening to Jenelle any time soon. “She brings a lot of views,” he shares. “Business is business at that point. You have to figure out a way to make it happen.”
