She may have spoken too soon! Though Teen Mom star Amber Portwood admitted back in November that she “has to quit” the show — and then seemingly followed through at the reunion taping — it looks like she may have changed her mind. In a new Radar Online report, a source close to the MTV reality star revealed that she’s been having “second thoughts.” She was struggling at the time that she decided she needed a break, but now she’s feeling like it might be more important to continue telling her story.

“She had second thoughts about leaving,” the source shared. “She now wants to stay with the MTV family and share her story… because of the fans, and her ten-year history on the show, she doesn’t want to leave abruptly.” Instead, she’s considering sticking around. The fact that she’s been feeling better lately certainly doesn’t hurt either. “[She’s] doing really well right now,” the source said. “Depression is a lifelong struggle [but] she and MTV are like family — there are lots of ups and downs.”

Back in November, Amber tweeted, “I can’t do this anymore,” and, “I have to quit this show.” At the reunion aired in January, she continued in the same vein. “I think I should separate myself from the show,” she told her producers. “I don’t feel like this is right for my life anymore. You want a certain story that I don’t want to give you anymore. I feel like it’s depressing to be on the show… This is my life that you guys plaster all over television. I’m not going to film right now. I need time to f–king think.”

Now, it seems like she’s had a chance to take that time and is in a better place with her mental health. “She is ready to resume filming!” the source shared. “Amber has one year left on her contract, so she may not even need to sign anything to be back on board.” Though we hope Amber does whatever is best for her mental health, we love having her on Teen Mom OG, and we know we’ll be following her story either way.
