Inside Heather Locklear’s Breakdown: Exclusive Details On The Moment She Was Placed On Psychiatric Hold
Nov. 18 sounds like it was just as scary for the friends and family of Heather Locklear as it was for her. In the week before Thanksgiving, the former Melrose Place actress was put on an involuntary 5150 hold after police were called to her house over a meltdown. In Touch has exclusive details on the moment police took her into custody as she stood half-naked and belligerent in her driveway.
A source told In Touch magazine, on newsstands now, what allegedly happened in the hours leading up to her breakdown. According to the insider, Heather, 57, had locked herself in the bedroom of her home with her little dog, Mister. The source said Heather’s friends left to get help and claimed she smelled like alcohol, but when they came back, she was outside of her home wearing nothing but a thong and tank top, “freaking out about everyone leaving.”
“They finally got her into bed, but shortly after, she woke up screaming, ‘Help me!’” continued the source. “They thought she cut herself or attempted suicide. But she just wanted her dog.”
The police were called, and Heather allegedly started to get belligerent, so the cops cuffed her and put her in a waiting ambulance. The source explained that she was originally taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA, but was later transferred to The Villa Treatment Center in Woodland Hills.
An insider close to Heather believes “It’s beyond drugs and alcohol at this point. Friends think she has a mental illness. She threatens suicide, but the bigger worry is killing someone else.” Heather has been known to get violent in the past, including an arrest after reportedly choking her elderly mother. Back in February, she was arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer and an EMT. Most recently, she was allegedly beating up her boyfriend when police were called to the home and put her on the psychiatric hold. Still, the outbursts are allegedly even worse behind the scenes.
The police were once called when Heather’s brother found her aggressively fighting with her boyfriend Chris Heisser outside of her home, and the insider said their fights get much more intense than that. “Heather berates him, and he just takes it,” said the source. “She tells him, ‘I don’t care about you! I don’t care about you!’ It’s very sad. They are extremely toxic for each other.”
The actress also allegedly lashes out at her little pooch, Mister. “He’s a constant target. He’s small and sweet and terrified of Heather,” the insider insisted. “She pushes him off the bed, grabs him, yells at him, calls him bad names. His heart is jumping out of his chest when she is around. It’s worse than anyone knows.”
