When it comes to the Duggars, having babies at an incredibly fast rate is the norm — which is why it's not completely shocking that the women in the family share pregnancy advice with each other. Joy-Anna Duggar, Jinger Duggar, and Kendra Caldwell opened up in a new interview with Us Weekly about how they prepared for motherhood with the help of one another!
Joy-Anna, who welcomed her first child, Gideon, with husband Austin Forsyth in February, said, "During my pregnancy I was always open to advice and ways I could prepare myself for the birth and just being a new mom. Some of the best advice I received is just to rest before the baby gets here because once the baby is here, you’re not going to get rest for a while until he’s on a schedule."
And now that Joy has a son of her own, she uses her sisters, Jill and Jessa — who are moms to
Israel David Dillard, 2, Samuel Scott Dillard, eight months, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald, 2, and Henry Wilberforce Seewald, 1, respectively — as role models. She said, "I've seen their consistency and diligence and I can apply those things to my life and into my parenting."
On the other hand, Jinger who's currently expecting, looked to her sisters for advice when it came to dealing with morning sickness earlier on in her pregnancy. Not only did they help her deal with nausea, but they also said, "If you need to take a nap or lay down in the middle of the day, don't feel bad."
Although the Duggar sisters might share some tips and tricks when it comes to getting through a pregnancy as comfortably as possible, their secrets are totally exclusive. Kendra, who married Joseph Duggar in September 2017, explained getting pregnant at the same time as Joy-Anna and Jinger was a blessing.
"It’s been a really unique experience in that we’re getting to share all of the different changes that our bodies are going through and can talk about them and encourage each other. It’s definitely been nice," she shared.
