Throwback: Remember That Time When the Duggars Dressed in Uniform?
If you can even believe it, once upon a time in Arkansas, the Duggar family dressed even more depressingly than they do now. In fact, after the family started to multiply upwards of four J children, it seemed as though Jim Bob and Michelle decided to dress their kids in a sort of uniform. We get to see this horror in action with the special 14 Children and Pregnant Again, long before TLC decided to fund their thrift store approved wardrobe. But sometimes the Duggars decide to unearth these throwback shots of their schoolchildren days on social media, and to say it's, uh, a bit concerning doesn't begin to cover it.
Sure enough, when we look at the fam's matching oversized collars (for girls!) and crisp polos (for boys!) we wonder, why did this happen? In a word, idk. There's partial suspicion that Michelle might have saved money by sewing dresses out of the same fabric or that she forced her girls into weird babydoll pinafores because she, constantly knocked up, could wear nothing else herself. Or maybe this was a classic Duggar conformity issue? A stab to make sure that they wouldn't lose a kid behind, since it's so hard to keep track? It's hard to know for certain, and harder to look…but we just have to. Below, some serious throwbacks of the Duggars' uniform days.
