While many people are disappointed with Lori Loughlin and Jussie Smollett after their respective scandals, one person has their back: Duane “Dog” Chapman.

The 66-year-old appeared on The Domenick Nati Show and spoke about the Empire star, 36 — who was accused of filing a false police report after he claimed that two men attacked and screamed “racial and homophobic slurs” at him. “[It was] a crime that didn’t really have a victim and got blown way out of proportion. The criminal justice system … They love to pick on celebrities,” Dog said. “[Smollett] walked away with a slap on the hands and I’m sure if they had enough solid concrete evidence that they’d have prosecuted him. But they didn’t.”

The Dog the Bounty Hunter alum insisted that since Smollett is in the spotlight, he is going to get picked on more. “Anybody else they’d have said, ‘False police report? $25 fine,’ but they blew this up across the country. Murderers get out for less. Sexual assault of a child gets out for less. What a crock of crap that was. Any kind of celebrity, they’re going to pay double or triple than a normal non-celebrity.”

Meanwhile, Loughlin, 54, and her husband Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters [20-year-old Isabella and 19-year-old daughter Olivia] designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

So, what does the Colorado native think about the mom-of-two’s actions? “Who would have ever known that’s illegal?” he said. “That if you pay extra for your kid, because you may have extra … Whoever went after [celebrities], I’d like to see where their kids are at [in college.] A judge’s kid, a prosecutor’s child … I guarantee there were some kind of favors, whether it was cash or ‘We will drop charges.’ It is so outrageous.”

He added, “Bonds on celebrities are outrageous. You get a regular person who’s not a celebrity, they walk away. These ladies allegedly paid a little extra for their kids? What the hell — no one was hurt, there were no victims. Judges want to get in the news.”

Recently, all charges were dropped against Smollett, while Loughlin and Giannulli were arrested and released on $1 million bonds. Loughlin and her husband are due in court on April 3.
