Ouch — our eyes! Jill Duggar took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 12, to share a photo of her husband, Derick Dillard, eating cookie dough. While ingesting cookie dough can be dangerous due to the presence of raw eggs and the associated risk with Salmonella, fans weren’t too concerned about Derick’s health. Instead, they were fixated on his current hairdo (or, hairdon’t, rather), which is a literal visual assault. See what fans had to say in the video below!

While pretty much everyone who commented on Derick’s hair agreed that it was tragic AF, one of Jill’s followers made a very disturbing (albeit completely accurate) comparison. “OMG he’s turning into Jim Bob Duggar!” they wrote. Well, it’s not just Derick’s unruly mop that has us thinking he might be the Counting On patriarch’s clone; it’s the 28-year-old’s ultra-conservative beliefs as well.

While the Duggars (and the significant others of the family’s many members) reportedly follow a lot of the same principles as the Quiverfull religion, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have both denied that’s the sect of Christianity they associate with. Regardless, Derick often hides his bigoted views under the guise of religious freedom.

Just last month, Derick was fired from Counting On after repeatedly criticizing 17-year-old trans advocate Jazz Jennings. As previously reported, Derick tweeted that he “[pities] Jazz,” referred to her using the wrong pronoun, and suggested that the I Am Jazz star’s parents were “taking advantage” of her to “promote their agenda.”

Earlier this summer, Derick also slammed Jazz’s reality series, tweeting, “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.” Although some fans thought TLC reacted too late, the network finally gave Derick the boot on Nov. 11.

“We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future,” TLC said in a statement via Twitter. “We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.”
