Oh, no! It looks like their son isn’t feeling so well, because Christina and Tarek El Moussa‘s three-year-old, Brayden, was in the hospital. While it seems like he’s doing a little better now, the parents faced a scary situation over the weekend when a relative realized he was having a hard time breathing. It seems that neither parent was actually with him while Brayden was visiting his grandma, and we can’t imagine how it felt to get the call that he was being rushed to the emergency room while struggling to catch his breath.

Tarek opened up about the awful incident on his Instagram page, writing, “So my big boy [got] croup over the weekend while he was with grandma. It is always very scary to see your child having a hard time breathing. 911 was called and he was taken to [the] hospital in an ambulance. I’m sharing this to remind people it’s okay to ask for help in scary situations. The police and fire department are trained to help in these situations. Thank you to all that protect our families, communities and also country. And..of course…Brayden still looks cute:)”

If you’re not familiar with croup, Mayo Clinic explains that it’s an infection of the upper airway. It can obstruct breathing and result in a “barking cough” thanks to swelling around the vocal cords, windpipe, and bronchial tubes. Though it’s not usually serious, the fact that Brayden needed to go to the hospital makes us think that he was sicker than most. Luckily, though, it seems like he’s recovering just fine.

Based on mom Christina’s Instagram, it seems that Brayden is now home safe and sound. More importantly, he’s also back with his puppy, Cashie the French bulldog. “Reunited and it feels so good 😊,” the Flip or Flop star captioned her own photo of her son after his illness.

We’re glad to see that everyone is doing well after such a scare — and that there didn’t seem to be much drama between Christina and Tarek while dealing with the situation. Though the couple had a messy divorce, it seems like they’re working together OK these days and teaming up to co-parent their two kids. Now, we just hope that Brayden continues to get well without any trouble, but with Cashie by his side, we expect that he’ll be doing just fine.
