Céline Dion Celebrates the End of Her 16-Year Las Vegas Residency at OMNIA Nightclub
It’s the end of an era. On Saturday, June 8, pop icon Céline Dion celebrated the end of her 16-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace by partying it up at OMNIA Nightclub. The 51-year-old danced the night away with resident headliner and Grammy Award-winning artist, Tiësto.
Tiësto, 50, was one of the lucky audience members in the sold-out crowd who got to witness the queen’s final performance. At OMNIA, he welcomed Céline into the DJ booth where they chatted and posed for photos together.
Céline arrived just after 2 a.m. with a crew of nine people and was seated in the VIP DJ booth table and danced to Tiësto’s set while sipping on Grey Goose vodka and orange juice. The stunning singer dawned a red floral sequin dress with blue pointy heels. Céline and crew departed the nightclub at 3:30 a.m., calling it a night.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer gave her all during her emotional final performance at The Colosseum, where she debuted a new song, “Flying On My Own.” Towards the end of the concert, she also paid tribute to her late husband and manager, René Angélil, by singing a cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” while photos of her performance over the past 16 years were displayed on the screen behind her. Their three sons, 18-year-old René-Charles and 8-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, joined Céline onstage as she said her final goodbyes.
“I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at the Colosseum since we began 16 years ago when René and I first shared this dream,” Céline told the crowd. “This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career…one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love.”
