Celebrity Feuds Leading to Co-Stars Getting Each Other Fired

Hate your co-workers? Try being a celebrity, where long hours and hurt egos can sour even the best relationships. But while you’re probably not going to start a war with Linda from accounting anytime soon (aside from occasionally stealing her sandwich) these celebs have created feuds so vicious that they’ve actually gone out of their way to get their co-stars fired…and some have even succeeded!

Some of these are legit shockers: there was no tighter bond than Uncle Jesse and Michelle on Full House, and yet John Stamos originally wanted to get rid of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It’s still daunting that your favorite Notebook sweethearts Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams initially didn’t jive with each other at all. Meanwhile in the world of reality TV it probably doesn’t surprise anyone that Jenelle Evans didn’t want Farrah Abraham to make a return to the Teen Mom franchise. Whatever the conflict, these tales of on-set feuds between co-stars will have you thankful your job is less chaotic.

Tori Spelling got Shannen Doherty fired from 90210.

"I remember… I could hear the door fly open and everyone screaming and crying," Tori revealed during Tori Spelling: Celebrity Lie Detector. "That's when I was told the boys just had to break up Jennie [Garth] and Shannen. It was like a fist fight."

After the fight, Tori called her father, 90210 producer Aaron Spelling, and got Shannen booted from the show. "I felt like I was a part of something, a movement, that cost someone their livelihood," Tori said. "Was [Shannen] a horrible person? No. She was one of the best friends I ever had."

Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro championed to get Janet Hubert fired from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

"She went nuts!" Alfonso said. "Long story short…there were days when we were all on the set and she would literally go off on people…We felt like, when we were doing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that we were a family…She, at that point, ruined that…and she was then fired."

As for Janet's side of the story, she told The Huffington Post, "My departure was planned for a long time… There will never be a reunion of the Fresh Prince. Will Smith and Alfonso destroyed a 20-year-career with untruths."

Alec Baldwin got Shia LaBeouf fired from Orphans.

"There was friction between us from the beginning," Alec said. "One day he attacked me in front of everyone. He said, 'You’re slowing me down, and you don’t know your lines. And if you don’t say your lines, I’m just going to keep saying my lines.' We all sat, frozen.

"So I took the stage manager…to another room, and I said one of us is going to go. I said, 'I’ll tell you what, I’ll go.' I said don’t fire the kid, I’ll quit. They said no, no, no, no, and they fired him."

Ryan Gosling tried to have costar Rachel McAdams replaced in The Notebook.

Director Nick Cassavetes revealed in an interview about Ryan and Rachel's tension on set:

"Ryan came to me, and there’s 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, 'Nick come here.' And he’s doing a scene with Rachel and he says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can’t. I can’t do it with her. I’m just not getting anything from this.'"

Nick rejected the offer and encouraged the actors to work through the tension.

Jenelle Evans didn't want Farrah Abraham to return to Teen Mom OG.

After Farrah was fired (and then later rehired) from the show, Jenelle admitted on Twitter that Farrah's presence on the show was not wanted amongst her fellow costars.

"Have u ever thought to yourself that maybe JUST MAYBE MTV doesn't want porn stars on their TV that use to be on Teen Mom?" she wrote. "They want to promote PREVENTING pregnancy not PROMOTING Sexual Intercourse. duh."
