A Celebrity Guide to Fourth of July Fashion That Won’t Leave You Looking Like a Star Spangled Disaster

The Fourth of July is in a few days, and you know what that means — cookouts, sparklers, and our cutest red, white, and blue ensembles. But more importantly? It’s the day celebrities spam Instagram with pics of themselves dressed in ridiculous American flag-printed rompers.

Every year, the stars like to show off how they celebrated Independence Day, from flouncing around on the beach to roasting up hot dogs at a cookout — and in almost every pic they’re dressed in their most patriotic outfit. But a few of these looks go a little overboard, pairing loud prints with even louder colors for a costume that’s supposed to say “America” but instead screams “MURICA.”

As much as we love July Fourth, don’t fall into the same traps as Kim or Miley and wear some American flag-printed pajama onesie. There actually are ways you can dress up and get in the spirit without looking like Old Navy threw up on you.

Famous folks like Chrissy Teigen and Taylor Swift have shown clever examples on how to wear cute garbs that are appropriate for any party or cookout. The keyword here is subtetly. These outfits definitely won’t make you look like Uncle Sam’s long lost daughter.
