Catelynn Lowell ‘Planned’ a Surprise Renewal Ceremony for Tyler Baltierra: He ‘Had No Clue’
How sweet! Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are headed to Hawaii for a vow renewal ceremony in an upcoming episode of Teen Mom OG. In the season 8 trailer, fans saw them head to Maui to share an emotional moment — and the couple spilled the inside details on the day to Us Weekly, including the fact that “Tyler had no clue” it was happening.
“I actually planned the vow renewal,” Catelynn, 27, said, revealing it was a total surprise for her husband. “I decided to do it because of the year we had prior. It was like a new beginning and recommitting. We are stronger now. Whenever you go through things as a couple and come out on the other side, you are always stronger!”
The MTV mama picked Hawaii because that’s where she and Tyler, 28, jetted off for their first honeymoon. “It was just him and I — and a TV crew,” she revealed. “It was very small and intimate.” In the trailer, fans can catch a glimpse of the scene as the husband and wife exchange “I love yous”.
The couple really do seem more in love than ever. On February 17, the father of two took the opportunity to gush over his wife on Instagram. “MY BABY!!! I love you so much, [and] I’m so proud of how far you’ve come as a woman, as a mother [and] as a survivor!” he wrote, sharing a photo of Cate all glammed up. “Your strength is as immeasurable as your capacity to love so deeply, [and] I am so blessed to have you as the matriarch of our family tribe [and] to have you as my wife!”
In June 2019, he posted another beautiful message. After the Teen Mom Twitter account resurfaced a clip of Tyler’s proposal to Catelynn, he took a moment to reflect on the 14 years they’ve spent together. “We were only 17 [and] everyone thought we were naively mistaken about what we wanted out of life,” he said on the social media site, adding hearts and crying emojis. “But we knew exactly what we wanted. We wanted each other … forever. I love you so much, @CatelynnLowell.”
