Caitlyn Jenner ‘Texted or Called’ Her Kids to ‘Apologize’ After ‘I’m a Celebrity’ Drama
After Caitlyn Jenner was eliminated from I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in early December, her family was nowhere to be found. Now, the 70-year-old former Olympian is apologizing to her children after they were criticized for not greeting Cait with open arms following the show. “My family is very well known,” she explained to The Daily Mail in an interview published on Monday, December 30. “I never asked any of them to come down or expected them to — they all have businesses and families. I was disappointed they were criticized. After the show was over, I texted or called all the kids to apologize.”
Earlier this month, the I Am Cait alum’s brood did not make a trip to see Cait after she left the reality show on December 6. But one person did come through — her friend Sophia Hutchins. “Just got out of the jungle and actually getting hair and makeup done, and boy, do I need it!” Cait said on her Instagram Stories at the time. “I haven’t had it in weeks, but when I came out of the jungle, I had a lot of friends there. I had a big surprise when I got to the hotel … Sophia’s here! Yay!”
However, it seemed like Kylie Jenner, 22, and Kendall Jenner, 24, couldn’t wait for Cait to return as they decorated her room with gold, white and pink balloons in addition to hanging up a “Welcome Home” sign. “Thank you my [babies],” she wrote via Instagram on December 10.
That same day, Cait’s son Brandon Jenner and stepdaughter Kim Kardashian cleared the air as to why they weren’t in attendance. “Why [weren’t] you at the bridge? So sad seeing your dad upset,” a fan asked Brandon, 38, via an Instagram message, which was shared by The Mirror. “Honestly, nobody reached out to set it up! I think it might have been a ‘storyline’ the producers wanted to fabricate in order to get more empathy for Caitlyn,” he replied. “That’s how that kind of TV works.”
For her part, Kim, 39, wrote, “Exactly what Brandon said!!! NO ONE from I’m a Celeb even reached out and asked for letters, appearances or anything from any Kardashians or Jenners.”
That doesn’t mean Cait is out of the woods just yet, though. After the brunette beauty got candid about her relationship with Khloé Kardashian — she said the two hadn’t spoken “five or six years” — the Kardashians were less than thrilled. “The Kardashians, especially Khloé are beyond furious with Caitlyn for spilling the beans,” a source exclusively claimed to In Touch at the time. “The Kardashians know what Caitlyn’s like, and how she’ll do almost anything to gain more fans and win the show — even if it means selling out her family. So, in some ways, they aren’t surprised.”
Hopefully, everyone can move forward and ring in the new year drama free!
