Creative dad! Brad Pitt discussed how important art is to him and his children in addition to what kind of paintings piques his interest the most. “Even the word collection kind of bothers me. That makes me go [vomit noise],” the 56-year-old actor said while making an appearance on Marc Maron’s podcast, “WTF,” on Monday, January 6. “Just certain things that move me, and I like to be around each day and might inspire my kids or something.”

In fact, the Ad Astra star even dished about his new hobby — sculpting. “I have been on my own,” he noted. “Yeah. What we do is such a collaborative sport, I found — for the better, for the worse, sometimes — I have seen performances improved, enhanced, like on this one, or I have seen them take a beating. To do something just you and on your own, very solitary, I find very meditative.”

Recently, the Oklahoma native — who shares Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 11, with Angelina Jolie — has been able to spend more time with his kiddos following his divorce as he saw them during the holiday season. “It looks like Brad and Angie are finally setting aside their baggage so that some of the kids can spend Christmas time with dad,” a source told In Touch at the time. “Brad’s getting Shiloh and twins, Knox and Vivienne, for part of the holiday.”

The Hollywood A-lister decided to take things up a notch and even went all out with the décor. “He’s decorated the house with a tree, snowmen and reindeer, lights and presents [all] wrapped and ready for them to open,” the insider explained. “He’s planned a tasty menu with some of Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne’s favorite foods. Everything from pizza to Pop-Tarts — with some healthy items too, that they’ll probably avoid.”

Right before the holidays, Brad celebrated his big birthday “at home with some of his kids,” a second source revealed. “He was beaming with pride and gratitude.  After a long, drawn out divorce and custody battle from Angelina, he’s grateful that they’re moving forward and coparenting better than ever.”

“It’s been a tough couple of years for him with the divorce and custody, but that seems to have all settled,” the insider continued. “He’s at peace, and he’s happy. Life is good for Brad right now. It’s probably one of the best birthdays and holidays that he’s had in a long time.”
