Ariana Grande Is Happy Pete Davidson Is ‘In a Better Place Now’ With Kate Beckinsale
No hard feelings? A source told In Touch Weekly exclusively that Ariana Grande is actually OK with her ex Pete Davidson seemingly moving on with actress Kate Beckinsale. Pete, 25, and Ariana, also 25, dated for around four months — and even got engaged during that time — but apparently, the “God is a Woman” singer isn’t holding any grudges or otherwise feeling bitter about the split.
“Despite the animosity between them, Ariana wants Pete to be happy,” a source told In Touch. “Ariana’s a nice person and found it extremely upsetting to watch Pete hit rock bottom. From her point of view, if Pete’s in a better place now that’s all the matters, even if it means finding happiness in the arms of someone else.” That’s really quite lovely of her!
Pete and Kate, 45, were spotted holding hands as they left his comedy show on Saturday, February 2, amid a swell of dating rumors. An insider also revealed to In Touch on February 5 that “Kate has really helped Pete get over his breakup with Ariana Grande. It’s still [in the] early days, and right now they’re just having fun.” Good for them!
Neither the Saturday Night Live star nor the actress has confirmed a relationship, but a lot of people are reading into them holding hands and spending time together. Meanwhile, Ariana is busy putting out hit after hit on the music charts — from “7 Rings” to “Thank U, Next.” Basically, even though Ariana and the SNL performer seemingly had a brief, intense romance, they both appear to have moved on in their lives, albeit in different ways.
Kate and Pete were seen at a Golden Globes afterparty together in January, and rumors started to fly. Then, when a fan yelled “Kate Beckinsale” at the “Pete Davidson & Friends” show at Tarrytown Music Hall in January, Pete apparently “smiled sheepishly and said, ‘yes,’” a source revealed to Us Weekly at the time. Perhaps if things get more serious, they’ll address what’s going on between them at last.
