The Eternals film will be based on comic book writer Jack Kirby‘s Marvel series of the same title about immortal human-like cosmic beings who have superpowers. Angelina will take on the role as Thena, Richard Madden will play Ikaris, Brian Tyree Henry is set to play Phastos and Salma Hayek will also star as the leader Ajak, according to Us Weekly. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2020.

Even though Angelina is no stranger to action movies, this will mark her first lead role in a superhero film in nearly a decade. She previously starred in 2008’s Wanted, alongside James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. The Eternals will also be part of the next set of film projects that are in post-production for the actress — which includes Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Come Away, Those Who Wish Me Dead and The One and Only Ivan.
