Happy Birthday, Mama Brown! The Brown family from Discovery’s hit reality TV series Alaskan Bush People are really tight-knit, and it’s all thanks to the family’s matriarch Ami Brown. Ami is a mom-of-seven, and even though the fam is famous for living their lives off the grid, some of them who have access to social media shared sweet birthday tributes to celebrate Ami’s first cancer-free birthday.

Ami’s youngest daughter Rainy Brown took to Instagram to share a cute video with her older brother Bear Brown and they both wished their mom a happy birthday. “Just want to say happy birthday to mom,” Bear said in the clip. “Seriously, it’s awesome to still have our mother around, quite frankly. Happy birthday, mom!” Check out the full clips they posted in the video above.

Bear’s sentiment really tugged at fan’s heartstrings. Ami, 53, faced the fight of her life when she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer last year. The Brown family, who built a campsite of homes in the Alaskan bush, had to leave everything behind and head for civilization in order to find proper care for their mom. The entire family lived in LA for a few months while Ami underwent treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and after she completed chemo, she found out that her cancer is in remission.

And of course, Ami’s kids are so happy that their mom is doing better — especially Rainy. “Dear mommy, Happy birthday to the greatest woman I know!!!” the 15-year-old wrote. “You mean absolutely the world to me and I would be lost without you.”
