She’s defending herself! Things are definitely over between 90 Day Fiancé stars Danielle Jbali and her ex-husband Mohamed Jbali and their divorce was documented on Season 2 of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. But Danielle didn’t have to go through the divorce alone, because her best friend Beth was by her side the whole time and she was definitely not a fan of Mohamed since the beginning — and she wasn’t afraid to let it be known. At one point, Beth insulted Mohamed with what fans thought was a racist comment, and now Beth is setting the record straight.

“Ok folks since my comment to Mohamed about his family goat is still such a hot topic for some people I am taking this opportunity to explain it,” Beth wrote in a statement posted on Danielle’s Facebook page. “I am not racist in any way, shape or form. I am married to a Muslim immigrant from Pakistan for the past [seven] years now. My husband is a much more devout practicing Muslim than Mohamed Jbali. This TV show, 90 Day Fiancé, etc, etc, is strictly for entertainment purposes only.”

Beth was upset at Mohamed for what he was putting Danielle through int the months leading up to their divorce — he left her to go to Miami with a female friend and Danielle was convinced he was cheating on her throughout their short-lived marriage and he made the divorce process difficult. Beth told Mohamed to go back home to his country of Tunisia to his family’s goat, which some fans felt was a dig at Mohamed’s Muslim culture.

“My comment to him about the family goat insinuating basically that the family goat was his first sexual experience was for entertainment value only,” Beth continued. “Was it inappropriate or in bad taste? Yes, probably so, and I sincerely apologize to anyone who it may have offended (except Mohamed…LOL) but seriously I truly am not racist and no TV show whether reality or not should be taken so damn seriously. By the way just for everyone’s information that comment and filming of this particular scene was filmed over a year ago. Again I didn’t mean to offend anyone other than ‘s–t head’ and I certainly do not have anything against Muslims. I hope this helps to clarify my comment for those who got the impression that I am a racist, Muslim hater.”
