She’s got a golden ticket! 90 Day Fiancé fans noticed a familiar face when former franchise star Evelyn Cormier made her debut on season 17 of ABC’s American Idol. During the episode that aired on Sunday, March 17, the 19-year-old auditioned before judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie with her cover of Chris Isaak‘s “Wicked Game.”

When Evelyn walked into the room, the judges said she reminded them of actresses Rachel McAdams and Anne Hathaway. They were also blown away by how young she is, and they were even more surprised to hear that she was married. But it was her voice that seemed to impress them the most.

“Literally one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in life,” Katy, 34, said. Luke, 42, added, “I think when you have a really amazing band behind you, it’s gonna be something crazy.”

And Lionel, 69, was impressed as well. “You have a sound, you have a sound that’s yours. I love the air. I don’t know what you’re doing, but whatever it is — it’s an identity,” Lionel said. “And I’m thrilled that we have you. It’s something we want to showcase, it’s something we want to show off.”

Before Evelyn got her golden ticket to Hollywood, Katy gave her a piece of advice. “Evelyn, pick the right songs cause you are my favorite voice. Pick the right songs,” the pop star said.

Evelyn appeared on season 5 of TLC’s hit reality TV series 90 Day Fiancé with her husband David Vázquez Zermeño, where they documented their K-1 visa process and the 90 days leading up to their wedding. Before her audition, Evelyn shared an update on her married life with David.

“When we met, I just felt a connection and he did too obviously — but the biggest issue was he was from Spain,” Evelyn explained. “David and I did long distance for a while and then he was finally able to come to the United States. Married life is good. People were not lying though when they said that it would be hard, the first year. You’re merging two different lives, especially now two cultures.”

But David, 28, seems to be super supportive of Evelyn’s musical career and he even joined Evelyn and her family on the trip to NYC from their hometown of Claremont, New Hampshire for her American Idol audition. “This is your passion, one of your dreams, your music,” David said. “I’m sure you’re just gonna go [in] there and do what you do the best.” And she did — congrats, Evelyn!
