Samantha Agate is a Food Network obsessed staff writer for Closer Weekly. She’s usually gaining major design inspiration while writing up celebrity house tours, watching the latest HGTV shows and rearranging the furniture in her home. Samantha loves talking about all things Disney whether it’s iconic throwback shows, Disney Parks or finding out where her favorite childhood Disney stars are now.

Samantha has predominantly written for Closer Weekly since joining the team in October 2021. She brainstorms and pitches ideas daily including pieces about your favorite home renovation experts and Hollywood icons. She stays on top of the latest house tours, galleries of some iconic superstar couples and her personal favorite, photos of the cutest celebrity families.
Education
Samantha graduated from Hunter College in New York City in 2019. She earned a degree in media studies with a concentration in journalism and a minor in sociology. During her time at Hunter, she interned at Flower Publishing Group, writing blogs about some of the most popular tourist attractions in the city and reviewing Broadway shows.

Prior to joining the Closer Weekly team in October 2021, Samantha wrote for The Blast and Talent Recap. She has covered major events like the 2017 Met Gala, numerous Super Bowl Halftime Shows and the 2020 MTV VMAs.
Samantha worked as an on-camera host on YouTube from 2019 to 2021. She has interviewed countless American Idol winners, America’s Got Talent contestants and even hosted a live master class in voiceover work from Police Academy legend Michael Winslow, becoming an expert in how to bark like a dog and meow like a cat in front of millions of viewers.
