Kanye West wants the world to know one thing— his baby with Kim Kardashian is his and his alone.
In a new interview with The New York Times, the daddy-to-be opens up about his relationship with Kim and their baby on-the-way, which some have even dubbed the “royal baby” of the U.S.
“I just don’t want to talk to America about my family. Like, this is my baby. This isn’t America’s baby,” he said of his first child, a daughter due in July.

And when asked if he’s ever felt as “fiercly protective over anything” as he is now, the Mercy rapper replied: “I don’t want to explain too much into what my thoughts on, you know, fatherhood are, because I’ve not fully developed those thoughts yet. I don’t have a kid yet.”
Despite refusing to talk about his "family," Kanye had no problem opening up about Kim.
“Maybe 90 percent of the time it looks like I’m not having a good time,” he says of his public portrayal. “Any woman that you’re in love with or that loves you is going to command a certain amount of, you know, energy. It’s actually easier to focus, in some ways.”

But for the guy who tends to say what’s on his mind— regardless of who it might offend— he admits he’s not a fan of backlash.
