What Happened on ‘The Walking Dead’ Last Night? [Spoiler] Is Dead
There was an emotional end to this season of The Walking Dead.
Fans of the AMC series know this season got off to a rocky start when we said goodbye to our beloved Glenn [played by Steven Yeun] and Abraham [played by Michael Cudlitz] — and sadly, we lost another core group member on Sunday night’s season finale.
From some characters switching sides to a full-blown bloodbath, let’s just say it’s going to be tough to wait until October for the new episodes.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
We previously saw Sasha [played by Sonequa Martin-Green] contemplate suicide and even ask Eugene [Josh McDermitt] for help. He gave her a poison pill that would quickly and painlessly take her out of her misery — which is an appropriate way to describe living in a cell at the hands of the Saviors’ leader, Negan] [Jeffrey Dean Morgan]. Fans feared we would be saying goodbye to her this season after it was announced that Sonequa was cast as the lead role in upcoming CBS series Star Trek: Discovery and unfortunately, they were right.

Negan told Sasha he wanted to send her back to Alexandria but in return, her group’s leader, Rick [Andrew Lincoln] would have to choose someone else to be killed. He took her back to her “home” in a coffin — when she finally decided to take the pill and end her life. The villain was surprised when he opened the casket to let Sasha out and she had already turned into a walker.
Elsewhere in the episode, Negan’s former helper, Dwight, tells Rick and his crew that he can help them defeat Negan and the Saviors.
“You can trust me, if we can work together, we can stop them,” he explained while undergoing their interrogation.

Their worlds were rocked again when they were betrayed by the Scavengers, who happened to also be serving Negan and his group. However, they seemingly got their wish for Hilltop and the Kingdom to join in their battle.
