Is everything okay, girl? Wendy Williams gave her fans a scare — and not the good-natured, Halloween-spirited kind — when she fainted on a live broadcast of her show, The Wendy Williams Show earlier today, Oct. 31. The 53-year-old was dressed as Lady Liberty — complete with green hair — when she “overheated” and passed out. Watch the chilling moment.

After the scare, the show immediately went to a commercial break, and thankfully, Wendy was able to return to broadcast after the minor medical mishap. In light of her quick return, some viewers were skeptical about the incident — believing it to be a Halloween prank; “Why is Wendy Williams fake passing out? Please,” one such naysayer tweeted. Another added, “Wendy Williams said she was overheated? Who believes that?”

However, the always outspoken talk show host reassured fans that this was not the case. “That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume… I did pass out,” she told viewers. “But you know what? I’m a champ and I’m back.”

You can say that again, Wendy! On social media, fans were thrilled to see Wendy back on her feet — both figuratively and literally. “I’m glad Wendy Williams is OK. What happened to her looked pretty scary,” a fan wrote moments after she returned to the air. Another tweeted, “Wow, [I] hope Wendy Williams is OK. That was scary AF.”

She has since released multiple statements reassuring fans that she’s doing well. “Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. Thank you for your well wishes,” her team tweeted. She later supplemented with her own statement, which read, “Everybody relax. I’m doing fine, just need some water and electrolytes. On another note, I slayed and laid Halloween, LOL! Shout out to my magnificent Glam Squad and Ceaser Galindo the costume designer.”

We’re so happy to hear she’s doing better. Take it easy today, Wendy!
