It’s Time to Appreciate Ryan Edwards’ Dad Larry, the Real Star of ‘Teen Mom OG’
It’s safe to say we know all the Teen Mom stars pretty well. Whether we’re watching Teen Mom OG or Teen Mom 2, we’ve gotten to know all the baby mamas and baby daddies — but what about the Teen Mom parents?! One shining star of the series is Ryan Edwards’ dad Larry Edwards! He’s grandpa to Ry and Maci Bookout’s son Bentley, and we seriously love seeing him on the show.
Larry and his wife Jen are key players in the TM franchise and have been present in both their grandson’s life and Ryan’s ex Maci’s life. The duo just recently celebrated 30 years of marriage together and commemorated the occasion with a sweet post to Instagram. In one section of the post, Larry can be seen wrapping his arms around his wife and in another, there’s text reading, “Made in 1987 30 years of awesome.” Fans rushed to the comments section to offer their well-wishes. “Amazing accomplishment! Congratulations! Wishing you many more years of happiness!” one fan wrote, while another added, "Happy Anniversary! Y'all are precious! Have an awesome day & be blessed!”
Though the Edwards bunch seems to be getting along now, it wasn’t always easy. In earlier seasons of the MTV show, Larry feuded with his son, seemingly because of his battle with addiction. In a clip from Season 6, a producer can be seen talking to both Jen and Larry about their son moving out of their house. “Good riddance, it was a long time coming,” Larry said to the producer. After she asked how the relationship got so bad Larry said, “It’s just Ryan. I’m over his lies, I’m over his laziness, selfishness, I’m done with it…I’m done with him forever. I don’t want him anywhere around me ever, and I never want to be around him ever, because I’m tired of that blood-sucking leach, I’m over it. I’m not crying about it…He’s a f–king bum. I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire.”
These days, since Ryan and Mackenzie Stander got married, it seems as though things have settled back down. After Ryan entered rehab, we’re sure that was a huge relief for his parents, and from the looks of Instagram, Jen and Larry are still hanging out with Bentley and Mackenzie’s son Hudson! We might be getting a closer look at Ryan’s parents soon because Mack took to Instagram to tease a spin-off show featuring their family! We cannot wait!
