Better late than never? Jenelle Evans’ Teen Mom 2 special, The Ex Files, aired on Monday, Dec 11, and in it, the MTV starlet’s first baby daddy, Andrew Lewis, opened up about the lack of communication he has with the former couple’s son, Jace. According to Andrew, he would like to finally establish a relationship with the eight-year-old.

As fans are well aware, Andrew once questioned if Jace was his son. “[Jenelle] waited until the last minute to say Jace may not be your son,” he said on the show. “I was scared when they called for the paternity test.”

While it was eventually confirmed that Andrew is indeed Jace’s father, he moved North Carolina to New York during Jenelle’s pregnancy — and has only seen their young boy once since his birth in August 2009. Regardless, Andrew revealed that he’s been paying child support to Jace’s legal guardian and Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, for three years.

“I would love to have a relationship with Jace,” Andrew, who now works as an event coordinator in NYC, admitted on The Ex Files. “I dream about him every day. I think about him everyday. The reason I don’t Google him or look him up is because it’ll hurt me.”

However, Jenelle — who also shares son Kaiser, 3, with ex-fiancée Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, 10 months, with husband David Eason — is not at all interested in nurturing a relationship between her eldest child and Andrew. “I’d rather Andrew be completely out of Jace’s life instead of being in and out,” the 16 and Pregnant alum lamented. “Maybe he should just stay out.”

In her recently published memoir, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom, Jenelle elaborated on her fallout with Andrew and his current relationship with Jace. “He never comes to see his son though he still calls and says he wants to. It just never happens,” she wrote. “He signed away his custody and I don’t know if he will ever be in his son’s life again.”
