She’s putting her health first! As In Touch previously reported, Selena Gomez is seeking treatment after suffering an emotional breakdown due to complications from her kidney transplant. In early October, the “Wolves” singer was hospitalized twice for an alarmingly low white blood cell count, which may indicate a risk of infection in transplant recipients.

Selena, who suffers from the autoimmune disease lupus, “felt her life was spiraling out of control,” a concerned source revealed to Life & Style magazine, on newsstands now. “She has dealt with anxiety and depression since she was a teenager,” the source added. “She recognizes her demons and is getting help before it’s too late.”

The former Disney star has reportedly checked into a psychiatric facility after having panic attacks and becoming despondent over her health. The 26-year-old is also reportedly undergoing dialectical behavior therapy designed to help manage painful emotions and change negative thought patterns.

Sadly, it’s not the first time Selena has sought treatment — she checked into Arizona’s Meadows facility in early 2014, entered a Tennessee treatment center in 2016, and completed two weeks in an NYC facility for depression and anxiety in 2018. “Selena’s health is more important than anything else,” said the insider.

As to whether any other factors have contributed to Selena’s breakdown remains to be seen. However, other sources have suggested that Selena seeing her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber so in love with 21-year-old model Hailey Baldwin certainly hasn’t helped the pop star’s overall well-being. “[Selena] can’t stand looking at the photos of them,” an insider previously revealed to Life & Style. “She’s traumatized by it.”

As far as Justin’s reaction to his former love’s condition? Well, it seems he’s more conflicted than ever. According to a source who spoke to E! News, “They have both had emotional struggles and bonded over that in the past.” Another source added that Justin feels “remorse” for Selena. Here’s hoping that everyone involved in this situation gets the peace of mind they deserve. Stay strong, Selena! We’re rooting for you.
