Mystery solved! Demi Moore didn’t hold back while she wrote her new memoir, Inside Out. The 56-year-old even confessed that the night before her wedding to Freddy Moore in 1980, she called “a guy I’d met on movie set.” However, the actress didn’t divulge any more details about the affair, but now, In Touch has learned the mystery man’s identity: Paul Carafotes, her costar in her first film, Choices. “Yes, I’m the actor she was referring to,” the 56-year-old told In Touch exclusively about their rendezvous. “We were having an affair. I was 21, starring in my second feature. She was 18, and this was her first.”
Ultimately, Paul confirmed that the phone call was true and detailed what went down that night. “I told her I was tired and going to bed, but she was persistent,” he recalled. “I told her if she wanted to come over, I’d leave my kitchen window open, but she’d have to climb the fire escape. Next thing I know, I’m being woken up — Demi is standing over me with a bottle of Dom Pérignon saying, ‘Let’s party!’ She was wild. We were all that time.”
But it didn’t end up working out for the former flames as Demi went on to marry Freddy, Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher. While Paul remembers Demi fondly, the Charlie’s Angels alum gave some details about her exes. In the novel, Demi called Bruce, 64 — they share three daughters: Rumer Willis, 31, Scout Willis, 28, Tallulah Willis, 25 — a “valued friend and cherished family member.”
However, she wasn’t so kind when it came to talking about the That ‘70s Show alum, whom she was married to from 2005 to 2013. The mom of three dished that Ashton wanted to add a third person in their bedroom. “I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be,” she wrote about their romps, adding it was a “mistake.” Demi also confessed that Ashton cheated on her with a 21-year-old in their home while she was away filming a movie.
These days, Paul wishes the Hollywood A-lister nothing but the best. “I’m so happy she has found sobriety,” he said. “I did as well — I’m celebrating 17 years this month. But I’ll never forget Demi. She has something special, a glint in her eye.”
