Are you afraid of the dark? Well, be prepared to be spooked by A&E’s upcoming special, World’s Biggest Ghost Hunt: Pennhurst Asylum, where five paranormal investigators will be locked inside the Pennhurst Asylum for two weeks. From 1908 to 1987, the facility had more than 10,000 residents — who were mostly children. The conditions inside the institution were brutal as residents were severely mistreated. It is said that the ghosts of the staff and inmates returned to Pennhurst once it shut down and are now living inside.

“This is one of the most haunted places in the United States,” the owner said in In Touch’s exclusive preview. Since it’s the longest continuously filmed paranormal investigation in television history, viewers can expect to be shocked by some scary encounters including mysterious noises, physical attacks and full-body apparitions. Additionally, the five brave men and women will get to explore the 110-acre property, where they will investigate new areas.

Sounds like one heck of a ride!

World’s Biggest Ghost Hunt: Pennhurst Asylum airs on A&E on Wednesday, October 30, at 8 p.m. ET.
