She’s finally a city slicker! Now that Miranda Lambert is married to NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin she has a newfound respect for city dwellers. The 35-year-old will always be a country girl but she is really digging city life — even when it gets a little chaotic.

“I love the city. My heart is in Texas and Tennessee, but my husband has opened my eyes to a whole new world,” the country starlet told People magazine. “I’ve been to New York so many times, but I’ve only worked. I’ve never just gotten to like hang out and wander the city and really take in what that is, good and bad. There’s these crazy awesome rock bars and graffiti, I really enjoy it.”

Although she has embraced the hustle and bustle, it still is a far cry from the countryside. “It does drain your energy,” she admitted. “Spending a lot of time here, I start to get anxiety and stress, and go, ‘Okay, that’s three days. No more sirens. I’m good’ … That’s why going back to the farm refuels me. When I was younger, I used to thrive on more noise and more going and more people. It’s opposite now. I need the quiet versus the noise.”

She said that she now relishes the time she gets to “regroup” back in Nashville. “I’ve got bunnies and horses and dogs, cats, and I just can wear no makeup and be in the same clothes for three days,” she explained.

Luckily for Miranda, her husband, 28, enjoys their city meets country style living, too. “He loves Tennessee and wouldn’t move back to New York because he’s so happy there,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “He loves the Tennessee lifestyle.” The two recently purchased a $2 million home in NYC so they can come and go as they please. “It’s clear he loves Miranda and their marriage and is happy with their life,” the insider added.

These two are meant for each other as they both have the urge to travel. “My husband is very open and happy to travel and could be ready to go anywhere in 15 minutes,” she said. “I love that. Kind of met a kindred spirit there.” Even though NYC can be a little overwhelming, we are happy she has taken a liking to her man’s home.
