Miley Cyrus Partied Hard Following Her Emotional Performance of ‘Slide Away’ at the 2019 VMAs
Partying the pain away? Following Miley Cyrus’ emotional performance of “Slide Away” at the 2019 VMAs, the 26-year-old singer was spotted ~getting down~ on Diplo’s Instagram Story. During the chaotic clip, the world-famous DJ, 40, panned to Miley rocking out to Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X’s hit single, “Old Town Road.”
Unfortunately, Miley’s rumored girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter, was nowhere in sight. However, we do know that the reality star, 30, was at the awards show to support Miley ahead of getting on stage. After all, considering “Slide Away” is believed to be about the dissolution of her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, it’s safe to say she needed a loving hand to hold … for more reasons than one.
Despite Kaitlynn and Miley’s obvious connection, the pop star was still upset after Liam officially filed for divorce on August 21. “Miley is shocked and hurt that Liam filed for divorce so quickly,” a source exclusively told In Touch at the time. “While she’s moved on, she expected him to wait so they could both make the decision together. The bottom line is, Liam has had enough of Miley’s attention-seeking ways and wants out.”
As it happens, Kaitlyn, who split from ex Brody Jenner in early August, is likely responsible for the Hunger Games actor, 29, expediting the process. “Liam hit the roof when photos emerged of Kait and Miley hooking up,” an additional source revealed. “It was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
The source noted that Brody, 36, hopes to remain friends with Kaitlynn and Miley, but Liam “doesn’t want any part of that.” Ouch! It looks like Liam is really taking Miley’s “it’s time to let it go” lyrics to heart.
