After Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce on Wednesday, August 21, it seems like Miley Cyrus was blindsided that the handsome hunk ended their relationship for good. “Miley is shocked and hurt that Liam filed for divorce so quickly,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “While she’s moved on, she expected him to wait so they could both make the decision together. The bottom line is, Liam has had enough of Miley’s attention-seeking ways and wants out.”

Apparently, the 29-year-old didn’t enjoy seeing the 26-year-old pop star spend time with Kaitlynn Carter immediately after the former flames decided to separate. “Liam hit the roof when photos emerged of Kait and Miley hooking up,” another insider revealed. “It was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

The source noted that Brody Jenner “remains friends” with his ex Kaitlynn and Miley, but The Hunger Games star “doesn’t want any part of it.”

The Australian native officially filed for divorce on August 21, In Touch can confirm. Liam cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The blonde beauty has yet to explain why things didn’t work out between her and Liam, but she seemingly alluded in her new song “Slide Away” that “whiskey and pills” might have played a part. Additionally, she sings that she is not 17 years old anymore — which is the age she was when she first met the actor — and has changed a lot in the past few years.

On August 10, Miley’s rep confirmed that the Hollywood A-listers called it quits after 10 years together. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” her rep told People. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

The “Malibu” crooner hinted at her split in an Instagram post one day after it was revealed that she was back on the market, writing that “change is inevitable.” Liam, for his part, broke his silence a few days later. “Hi, all,” he wrote on August 12. “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated, and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
