Bringing good vibes! Kaitlynn Carter was spotted at Miley Cyrus’ rehearsal for the highly anticipated 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, a source tells In Touch. The singer will be performing her latest hit single “Slide Away” at the star-studded event tonight, August 26, and it looks like Kaitlynn might be her date for the special occasion!

Miley, 26, was practicing for the show in Newark, New Jersey, as she is slated to take the stage at the Prudential Center sometime this afternoon. It looks like the songstress and Kaitlynn, 30, are now closer than ever, and the reality star’s support couldn’t come at a better time. Tonight will mark Miley’s first televised performance since her split with husband, Liam Hemsworth, on August 10, and that’s not all: she’ll even be performing the track which is rumored to be about her ex.

“Once upon a time / it was paradise Once upon a time / I was paralyzed / Think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights / But it’s time to let it go,” some of the heartfelt lyrics read from Miley’s song.

As fans already know, Miley and The Hills: New Beginnings star are both going through public splits at the moment. In early August, the two were seen packing on major PDA during their fun-filled girls’ trip to Lake Como, Italy, where they were also joined by Miley’s sister Brandi Cyrus and some friends. It was later confirmed that Kaitlynn’s relationship with her ex, Brody Jenner, was over long before she was caught getting hot and heavy with Miley on vacation.

On the bright side, Kaitlynn has already been given the seal of approval from Miley’s mom, Tish Cyrus. “They’ve actually met a few times,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “Tish met Kaitlynn a month or so ago in the U.K., and they’ve also all met up in L.A. before Miley and Liam announced the split.”

“Tish really likes Kaitlynn and thinks she’s fun,” the insider added. “Tish’s main priority is Miley’s happiness.”
