Miley Cyrus Alludes to Liam Hemsworth’s Partying in New Song: ‘Don’t Want the Whiskey and Pills’

Hinting at something, Miley Cyrus? The pop star dropped a new song called “Slide Away” on Thursday, August 15, and she seemingly alluded to her estranged husband, Liam Hemsworth, and his bad habits throughout the lyrics.

The 26-year-old sings, “Once upon a time, it was paradise / Once upon a time, I was paralyzed / Think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights / But it’s time to let it go / Once upon a time, it was made for us / Woke up one day, it had turned to dust / Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So, it’s time to let it go.”

Before the chorus, the blonde beauty says, “I want my house in the hills / Don’t want the whiskey and pills / I don’t give up easily / But I don’t think I’m down.”

“Move on, we’re not 17 / I’m not who I used to be,” she added. “You said that everything changed / You’re right I’m grown now.”

Hmmm … could Miley be referring to some of Liam’s problems that led to their breakup? Does the house in the “the hills” represent her new love Kaitlynn Carter’s house since she is on the MTV hit show The Hills: New Beginnings?

Of course, some fans commented about Miley’s relationship with the 29-year-old Australian hunk. One person wrote, “Well, this is definitely about Liam,” while another echoed, “No harm in growing up. Some people just aren’t meant to be together forever. Props for doing what your heart wants and not what people wanna see.” A third person chimed in, writing, “Beautiful, and it’s true — people change as they get older. You become different. Relationships are hard when you start young and you get older and become different and find out your authentic true self.”

The “Malibu” crooner and The Hunger Games star recently called it quits after over 10 years together. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” her rep told People on August 10. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Miley seemingly alluded to her ex in an Instagram post one day after it was revealed she was back on the market, writing that “change is inevitable.” Liam, for his part, spoke out post-split on social media a few days later. “Hi, all,” he wrote on August 12. “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated, and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter, and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and love.”

Meanwhile, the Tennessee native was spotted canoodling and making out with Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitynn during their Italian getaway while Liam has been leaning on his older brother Chris Hemsworth.
