We’ll admit, this is actually pretty moving. The YouTube account for the Sorrentinos uploaded a video on January 21 of Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino’s final moments before he went to prison, and it’s definitely a bit emotional. Take a look for yourself in the clip below, and scroll through the gallery to learn more about Mike’s prison sentence.
In the clip, we see Mike, 36, headed to the facility where he’s serving his 8-month prison sentence for tax fraud — the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York.

Rather than choosing to drive himself, someone drives him there. His wife, Lauren Pesce, rode along with him on the journey, and when they get to the facility in the video, they kiss goodbye. We can’t even imagine how tough a moment that must have been for the couple.

For instance, he is set to make his film debut in the upcoming movie A Violent Man, and insiders told In Touch, “He’s bummed he can’t make the premiere. He might be doing a Skyped appearance from prison which will be his first movie premiere appearance from prison. We’re still working on figuring that out.”

Unfortunately, Mike’s rep later told In Touch, “While Mike is excited the movie is premiering, he is unable to support via Skype or a recorded interview. But his wife Lauren Sorrentino will be supporting [the film] via his and her social media.” We suppose there are just some things that have to be put on hold when you go to jail, and a movie premiere is one of them.

And as much as the prison sentence may seem long to him and his wife, the government actually pushed for a 14-month term, so it could have been worse.

In addition, Mike has to complete 500 hours of community service and may have to complete drug testing and mental health or addiction treatment after he completes his sentence.

“On such a short sentence of 8 months, they will send him to a halfway house for two to three months at the end,” Dan Wise, a Federal Prison Consultant and Expert told the outlet. “Because of who he is, he may even get home confinement.”

Hopefully, the months will fly by for the couple and they’ll be back together in no time once Mike has served his time.
