A chance for redemption? Megyn Kelly is hoping to make a big TV comeback after she was fired from the Today show in October 2018, but she reportedly has “limited options” when it comes to her next gig. Even though Megyn, 48, reached a settlement for her NBC contract and is free to work elsewhere, there’s supposedly nothing in writing just yet.

“Megyn may have gotten a sweet exit from NBC [with] her $69 million contract intact, but she still has no firm job offer. She says we’ll be seeing her back on TV shortly, but her options are very limited. Everyone is excited and wants to know what her plan is, she’s definitely working on something, but it’s still a mystery,” an insider tells Closer.

“Megyn would love to turn back time and have everyone forget the last year she had. Her arrival at NBC, the blackface comment, clashing with Matt Lauer and her other colleagues,” the source said. “It was a year of highs and many lows, but mainly one that she would like to forget. The problem is that no one, especially network executives, can forget her dismal year and the baggage she brought with her.” According to the report, Megyn is fearful another network won’t give her a shot.

After leaving Fox News in early 2017, Megyn’s NBC show, Megyn Kelly Today, aired later that year in September. Her role with the network didn’t come to an end until she questioned why blackface Halloween costumes are “racist” during an on-air discussion in October 2018. Megyn reportedly apologized to her colleagues via email before giving a statement on-air. “Good morning everyone and welcome to the show. I’m Megyn Kelly and I want to begin with two words — I’m sorry,” she said at the time. The network revealed only a few days later that her show was canceled.

Looking forward, Megyn reportedly wants to anchor her own evening show. “She was really winning then, she had respect and ratings,” the source said. “She was at the top of her game. That’s what Megyn is looking for. She does best solo.” We’ll see what the future holds.
