Why Meghan Markle’s Ex-Husband Won’t Congratulate Her and Prince Harry on the Baby: They ‘No Longer Speak’
Awkward. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed a baby boy into the world on Monday, May 6. However, there is one person who will not be sending them a congratulatory message: Meghan’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson.
“Trevor doesn’t really think about Meghan, as he’s in a very happy relationship and about to be married,” a source told Us Weekly. “He will not be reaching out to congratulate them, as Meghan and Trevor no longer speak.”
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, married the 42-year-old in September 2011, but went their separate ways after two years together. The former flames ended up getting a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
The brunette beauty started dating the 34-year-old in November 2016. The royal pair announced their engagement in November 2017 and tied the knot in May 2018. The film director proposed to Tracey Kurland less than a month after Harry and Meghan said “I do.”
Fortunately, the U.K. transplant found her Prince Charming. Shortly after Meghan welcomed their little bundle of joy into their lives, the official announcement was made on Instagram. “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz,” the post read.
The statement continued, “The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
Harry couldn’t help but gush over how he was feeling. “Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning — a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. This has been the most amazing experience I could possibly imagine,” he told the media shortly after the news broke.
The red-headed prince continued to rave about his wife in the interview, and it seems like everything went really well! “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we are both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everyone out there. It’s been amazing. So, we just wanted to share this with everybody,” he said.
Clearly, the Suits alum isn’t thinking about her ex anymore. It seems like everything worked out the way it was supposed to!
