Kim Kardashian Returns to Paris for the First Time Since 2016 Robbery
She’s so brave! It’s been nearly two years since Kim Kardashian‘s scary robbery in Paris, and now, the reality star has returned to the country for the first time since the scary event. On Thursday, June 21, Kim attended Paris Fashion Week for Virgil Abloh’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton alongside her husband, Kanye West, young sister Kylie Jenner, and Kylie’s baby daddy, Travis Scott.
In October 2016, Kim was held at gunpoint while burglars stole her cellphones and millions of dollars worth of jewelry. “Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers,” her spokesperson said to CNN at the time. “She is badly shaken up but physically unharmed.”
Months after the terrifying incident, Kim opened up about the experience on a Keeping Up With the Kardashians clip. “They’re going to shoot me in the back,” Kim emotionally revealed. “There’s no way out. It makes me so upset to think about it.”
Kim was in Paris at that time for 2017 Fashion Week, and while she’s been to fashion shows since, this was her first time back in Paris for one. At the show, she and her family sat in the front row, and the brunette beauty stunned in a bright blue shirt dress adorned with cargo pockets. She paired the look with a large pair of black sunglasses and black sandals.
According to People, Kim “seemed in a good mood” and was “absolutely not” afraid. On top of that, the security “didn’t seem exceptional or excessive.” The insider shared, “There were guards around her but not a huge contingent. It was almost normal but there was some tension you could feel.”
Kim has come a long way considering many people shared she was traumatized by the robbery when it happened. “Kim was happy to go to Paris,” a source told E! News. “She has missed it and felt like it was the right time to go. She felt comfortable because she had Kanye by her side the entire time. It was good for her to go back, but emotional at the same time. It’s been so long, but it’s a city she has always loved and she wants to be able to visit regularly again.” The source continued, “The visit was special and important for Kim. She wants to move on completely from what happened and going back helped with closure.”
