Kim Depaola Says Going on the Show ‘Botched’ Saved Her Life (EXCLUSIVE)
Finally fixed! The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kim DePaola returned to TV for an episode of Botched on May 9, and she tells In Touch it was the best decision she's ever made.
"I was in a lot of pain," says the reality star, who went on the show because her breast implants had become painful. "My right breast was killing me all the time."
Kim, who owns the Posche by Kim D boutique, initially got implants in 1990, had a second surgery to replace them about 10 years later and filmed Botched in May 2017. Dr. Terry Dubrow found that Kim, 58, had a grade IV capsular contracture in her right breast, a complication that develops when internal scar tissue tightens around an implant.
"He'd never seen anything like it," says Kim. "He said, 'Your immune system must have been shut down for a really long time.' If this had continued, it would have led to more and more illnesses. This show saved my life!"
